Palabra Series: Yuri 2.0 (Orange)

When I made the Palabra Series, I was in many ways a beginner, getting used to painting on a regular basis after not doing so for years. I was starting to explore digital art and drawing using software. I was also trying to find my voice in the midst of being an organizer. This 2.0 revamp of the older Palabra Yuri piece is both an homage to my beginnings, and a nod to how far I've come.

It was my alignment with social justice movements and values that sustained me as I developed my artwork. I hope you take time to acknowledge your growth and the miracle of not giving up on your learning.
